Choral Workshop
Saturday 17 May 2008
Merriman Music School, Cranleigh School
The workshop aims to be both an educational and social event of interest to current and prospective members of Cranleigh Choral Society: indeed to anyone keen to further their interest in choral singing. Experienced conductors Marcus Pashley and Toby Moschard will introduce music scheduled for performance by the society in the exciting 2008-09 season including ORFF Carmina Burana, BERNSTEIN Chichester Psalms, and HAYDN Nelson Mass.
The music will be introduced both practically and in an illustrated lecture placing the works in their cultural and historical context. The soprano Tara Harrison will give a presentation on the aspects of vocal technique and will be available throughout the day to give short individual consultation lessons.
The course fee of £25 includes lunch, all refreshments and hire of the scores. Individual 20-minute consultation singing lessons are £8 each (book on the day).
The workshop promises to be an enjoyable insight into some wonderful music in the beautiful surroundings of Cranleigh School. A map can be found on the Cranleigh School Website.
